"The light music of whisky falling into glasses made an agreeable interlude."
- James Joyce, Dubliners
So, what actually goes into a bottle of Single Malt Scotch Whisky? Given the diversity of flavors, it's incredible that single malts are only made from three ingredients: barley, water and yeast.
It is through the craft and skill of the Master Distiller, and subtleties in the production process, that these different flavors are achieved.
Scotch Enthusiast Magnus Bergkvist will lead participants in an interactive tasting that will explore the world of whisky, and the flavors of three single malt whiskies.
The cost for the tasting is $20 cash or check payable to University Club Foundation. Seating is limited, so please RSVP at 518-463-1151 or by email to avoid disappointment. Participants are invited to stay for a la carte dinner after the tasting.
This event is presented by the University Club of Albany Foundation, Inc., formed to recognize and maintain the unique historic and architectural significance of the National Register-listed University Club building, its neighborhood and the city of Albany, where it has been located since its inception in 1901. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Foundation, a 501c3 corporation. One need not be a member of the University Club to attend. Support for educational programming presented by the University Club Foundation is provided by AT&T.
